Texas Medical Center Library Now Two Libraries in One
Do you work in the Texas Medical Center? Are you an avid reader? Then you will be pleased to learn that you can now pick up bestsellers and other materials at the Texas Medical Center Library. A branch of the Harris County Public Library opened in the TMC Library Jan 3, making it two libraries in one.
The medical center’s library, known for its collection of medicine and health-related books and materials, is located at 1133 John Freeman Blvd. The new addition offers students and professionals working in Houston’s medical center the convenience of bring able to pick up the items they want without having to drive to a branch of the public library in another area.
Using your Harris County library card, you can order items from the catalog online at www.hcpl.net and have them sent to the TMC Library. When they arrive, you receive a phone call or email. You are then given a week to pick up your order.
If you don’t have a Harris County library card, you can request a free one at the TMC Library or apply for one online. The TMC Library will also offer a small collection of books from the public library you can browse on site and select from.
